From September '09 Chick Yuill will be devoting two days each week to working with the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) as the Regional Church Life Consultant in the North West of England for the Imagine Project.

LICC                                                                                                   LICC was founded in 1982 by John Stott with the core belief that every part of our lives comes under the Lordship of Christ and that all of life is a context for worship, mission, ministry and active Christian engagement. LICC works to ensure that Christians are properly envisioned, trained, resourced and supported for living and sharing the gospel in our rapidly changing world. 

The Imagine Project                                                             The Imagine Project was launched in 2003 with the vision of waking individual Christians and the church in the UK as a whole to the fact that the nation will never be reached with the gospel until we begin to cultivate open, authentic, learning and praying communities that are focussed on making 'whole-life disciples' who live and share the gospel wherever they relate to people.

Chick's role                                                                       Chick's role, as the regional Church Life Consultant, will be to develop a network of churches and Christian organisations who are committed to 'whole-life discipleship'.  This will involve the  intentional mentoring and development of leaders who will implement these principles in their own churches and who will enable and encourage other leaders to do so.

Chick says:                                                                             'I had resolved never to seek for any jobs but to be open to any opportunities that might come my way for ministry. When the invitation came to me to apply for this post, it seemed to fit very closely with my own increasing convictions about the importance of authentic discipleship and about the kind of church we need to be in the twenty first century.  After thinking it through carefully and prayerfully, and having discussed it fully with Margaret, I responded to the invitation and applied for the post.  The rigorous and searching interview process confirmed in my heart and mind that I was joining a group of people who were serious about the gospel and passionate about reaching those who are not yet followers of Jesus.

'The nature of the post is such that it gives me a great opportunity to be involved in the life of local church, to be part of the excellent team at LICC, and still have time to give to my ministry of speaking, writing and broadcasting.  I am looking forward to the challenges it will bring.'
